Information about how to install TERRA 4D software and demo configurations. Please refer to the installation guide for more details: terra_4d_installation_guide.pdf In general the following steps should be executed.

Download the program installer from the ftp server (for ftp details please check the installation guide). The same installer is used for client and server installations. There are two important directories to define during the installation process:

• Program directory: all program files
  • Default directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\FASTProtect\Terra4D
  • Space requirements: about 1GB
• Data directory: configuration and GIS data
  • Default directory: C:\ProgramData\FASTProtect\Terra4D
  • Space requirements: depends on project but GIS data can be huge

This section is only required when a demo system will be set up. The demo configuration including GIS data requires about 40GB of disk space. Download the demo data installer from the ftp server (for ftp details please check the installation guide). for demo configuration about 40GB

Hardware requirements are also listed in the installation guide. Beside the general computer hardware requirements it is important to know that TERRA 4D uses OpenGL so please make sure an appropriate graphics card is installed.

A VPN connection is required to access the live cameras at the FAST office building in Friedrichshafen. If this shall be part of the demo then OpenVPN should be installed. Please ask your contact person for OpenVPN key file. For more details check the installation guide.
